Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie has been linked with a January transfer move to Tottenham.

Spurs tried to sign the Ivorian midfielder during the summer, but he opted for a move to Barcelona.

Tottenham are now trying to explore Kessie’s lack of playing time at Barcelona to ensure a move is made in January.

However, journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that it would be a ‘waste of time’ for Tottenham Hotspur to pursue Barcelona’s Franck Kessie in the January transfer window.

He said: “I think a cheeky bid for Kessie in January would probably be a waste of time, to be honest.

“He’s basically chasing a dream here. And I think he’ll give it the rest of the season before he even contemplates going anywhere else.”
