Another Barcelona star sent crashing from World Cup

Raphinha is the only Barcelona player represented in the Brazilian national team at the World Cup.

Raphinha and Brazil lost out in the quarter-final clash against Croatia.

Raphinha who started the game was subbed off early in the second-half.

Both sides played a 1-1 draw after extra time, before Brazil went on to lose on penalties.

Meanwhile, former Barcelona star Neymar has drawn level with Pele as the leading goalscorer in Brazil’s history after striking in extra time against Croatia.

According to FIFA records, Neymar have drawn alongside the legendary Brazilian, Pele, on 77 goals.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) records state that Pele actually scored 95 goals for his country in 113 games.

The disparity comes as Brazil consider friendlies played against club sides – which they would do in the 20th century – as official games.

For Raphinha, he’d observe a short break before returning to Barcelona.
