Franck Kessie’s agent has denied reports that the midfielder will be leaving Barcelona this summer, with Liverpool named as one of the clubs that are monitoring his situation at the Camp Nou.

The Ivorian joined Xavi’s side last summer, but regular first-team football has eluded him since then.

Reports recently suggested that Kessie will be sold as Barca look to raise some funds from transfers this summer, but his agent has poured cold water on the rumours, branding them as ‘fake news’.

Meanwhile, Barca boss Xavi Hernandez has said he’d need to sign two midfielders this summer, following the departure of Sergio Busquets.

Kessie will definitely be poised for a stronger competition, if he’s to remain at the club.
