La Liga president Javier Tebas has unleashed a surprise rant on the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Tebas doesn’t seem to be in support of the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup, and has revealed how it has destroyed club schedule ahead of next season.

In a post on X, he wrote: “A truly disastrous Club World Cup : players and leagues at odds, schedules destroyed, and a severely damaged professional football ecosystem, with hundreds of thousands of employees affected.

“As for television revenue and sponsorships, everything has been said; some of them come ‘on the spur of the moment.’ To top it all off, ticket prices are plummeting to fill stadiums, while tax problems arise for both players and clubs.

“Could it be worse? Even so, there are those who continue to sell the hype that it has been a resounding success and is the future of football. May God save us from these madmen, please.”

Barcelona didn’t qualify for this first version of this elongated FIFA Club World Cup.
