Barcelona were unfortunate to have been knocked out of the Champions League in the semi-final stage after a brave fight against Inter Milan at San Siro.

Just like the first leg, Barca had to come from two goals down against Inter. Barcelona even went further and were 3-2 ahead until a stoppage-time equaliser from Francesco Acerbi which broke the hearts of the Barcelona faithful. Barcelona would then lose the tie in extra time.

Nevertheless, Hansi Flick was proud of his side’s performance, and vowed his team will bounce back.

He said: “I’m disappointed with the result, not with the team’s performance. It is what it is, we are out, but we will try again because we want to make the fans happy, winning the Champions League was our goal and it will be again.

“We can be proud of the players, I am. It’s part of football, winning and losing, we will all learn.

“It’s also happened that Inter also played, they have good strikers, they defend well, with good automatism.

“And we will learn, it’s a progression, we want to keep learning, but we will be back.”

Hansi Flick then turned his focus to Sunday’s El Clasico tie with Real Madrid, as Barcelona will try to claim the La Liga.

“We have a tough game on Sunday. We’ll try to win it too. Then, three days later, we have to prepare for another match and we continue our path,” Hansi Flick said.
