Barcelona fans witnessed a night to remember as Hansi Flick’s side edged Real Madrid 3-2 after extra time to lift the Copa del Rey trophy. It was a victory full of passion, resilience, and moments of individual brilliance – and Flick couldn’t hide his delight afterward.

The German manager, who only recently took charge at Camp Nou, was full of gratitude for the way he has been received since joining the club.
“Whenever you take on a job like this, you have to always stay positive. I was genuinely surprised by the kindness I’ve received. I’ve felt very happy at the club,” Flick shared. His words reflected the strong connection he is quickly building with both the squad and the Barcelona faithful.

Flick also praised the electric atmosphere that carried the team through the intense encounter.
“The atmosphere throughout the day has been incredible. This victory gives us confidence, and perhaps we can achieve even more,” he said, hinting at bigger ambitions for the Blaugrana beyond just this Copa del Rey success.

Despite the intensity of the match, there was a moment of mutual respect between the two managers. Flick revealed his short exchange with Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti after the final whistle:
“He simply congratulated me and wished me good luck.”
A simple yet classy gesture between two of Europe’s most respected coaches.

Flick made sure to highlight the performances of his young defenders, particularly 18-year-old Pau Cubarsí, who stood tall against Madrid’s world-class attack.
“All the defenders have been fantastic. Pau, at just 18, has been exceptional. He looks like a much more experienced player,” Flick said, underlining the bright future Barcelona have at the back.

But perhaps the biggest individual praise of the night was reserved for Ferran Torres. The Spanish forward delivered a match-winning performance, once again proving his ability to rise to the occasion in Seville.
“This stadium is his. He’s scored many goals here with the national team as well. Ferran, playing as a ‘9’, is very effective,” Flick declared, suggesting that Torres could have a starring role leading the line for Barça moving forward.

This Copa del Rey win feels like more than just a trophy – it feels like the beginning of a new chapter. Under Hansi Flick, with young talents like Cubarsí and match-winners like Ferran Torres stepping up, Barcelona look ready to dream big once again.
