Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has said he will be tuning in to watch Barcelona take on Atletico Madrid on Sunday night.
Speaking after his team’s 2-1 victory over Villarreal, Ancelotti made it clear that his primary focus was on his own side’s performance rather than their title rivals.
“Barcelona vs Atletico tomorrow? The important thing is that we [Madrid] won today,” Ancelotti said.
Madrid’s win sees them move to the top of La Liga, at least temporarily, as they now await the outcome of the Barcelona-Atletico clash.
That doesn’t mean Ancelotti won’t be interested in the game, though. The Italian tactician admitted he will be watching the match as a fan of the sport.
“Of course I will watch that game because it will be entertaining. I’m a football fan,” he added.
Barcelona have played two games less than Real Madrid; meaning Barca still have the edge in the title race. However, the game against Atletico Madrid which comes just before the international break will be crucial in the title race.
