Lamine Yamal has spoken out about the racist abuse he faced following Barcelona’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Despite the incident, the young winger remained unfazed, choosing to focus on his team’s triumph.

“My mother was really worried. She saw everything on her phone and thought I would be upset,” Yamal revealed.

“She called me, but I was actually very happy because we had won 0-4. If we had lost, maybe I would have been thinking about why people say these things,” he explained.

Rather than letting the abuse affect him, the Barça star displayed remarkable maturity in his response.

“But in the end, you have to enjoy life. If someone insults you, it is because their values are not right. They were probably just angry because they lost.”

Yamal’s attitude exemplifies the resilience and composure that have made him one of the most exciting young talents in football. While racism remains a serious issue in the sport, his focus remains firmly on the pitch, where he continues to shine for Barcelona.
