Pau Cubarsi played a crucial role in Barcelona’s thrilling 4-4 draw against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final. The young defender scored his first goal for the club but admitted that he was frustrated with how the match unfolded, especially in the final stages.
“We are angry about the last ten minutes the team has played, we have not been at our level. We deserve the draw,” Cubarsi said, expressing his disappointment over the late equaliser.
Although scoring was a special moment for the player, he acknowledged that Barcelona needed to manage the game better towards the end.
“The second leg will be a final at the Metropolitano,” he added, emphasising the importance of staying focused as they look to secure a spot in the final.
Cubarsi’s passion for Barcelona was evident when he celebrated his goal, saying, “I was waiting for it, and I kissed the badge because Barca is the club of my life.”
