Barcelona have officially received FIFA’s approval to finalise the sale of Vitor Roque to Palmeiras, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan club had been exploring a legal avenue within FIFA’s transfer regulations—specifically Article 5.2 of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players—to facilitate the move. After thorough consultation with their legal team and an external law firm, Barcelona secured confirmation from FIFA that the transfer can proceed.

The deal, valued at €25 million for 80% of Roque’s economic rights, represents a significant financial boost for the club while also offloading a player who does not feature in Hansi Flick’s plans.

However, before the transfer can be completed, Barcelona must first negotiate the termination of Roque’s loan agreement with Real Betis. The club is in discussions with Betis to resolve the situation before Friday, which marks the closure of the Brazilian transfer window.

To facilitate the termination, Barcelona are considering offering financial compensation or adjusting Betis’ percentage stake in a shared player—potentially Ez Abde—as part of the negotiations.

Once an agreement is reached and Roque’s loan is formally ended, he will be free to sign with Palmeiras, bringing an end to the uncertainty surrounding his future.
