Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart has made a surprising statement about Real Madrid’s star winger, Vinicius Jr.
In an interview with AS, Gaspart admitted that he hopes the Brazilian forward accepts an offer from Saudi Arabia, as his departure would benefit Barcelona.
“I hope Vinicius accepts the Saudi offer,” Gaspart said. He openly acknowledged that losing Vinicius would weaken Real Madrid and give Barcelona an advantage in La Liga. “The offer should be good enough to convince Vinicius.”
The former Barca chief didn’t hold back in recognising Vinicius’ influence on the league. “He is one of the great players, and his departure will be the best thing for the Blaugrana.”
Despite being a Barcelona supporter, Gaspart couldn’t deny Vinicius’ exceptional qualities. “He is a very fast player, with impressive dribbling, with a terrible character, but always very motivated by his team.”
However, Real Madrid have no intention of selling their prized winger. Vinicius Jr is a key part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, and with a contract running until 2027 and a staggering €1 billion release clause, any potential departure remains highly unlikely.
