Barcelona appear set to part ways with Inaki Peña this summer while keeping both Marc-André ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczesny, according to reports.

The Polish goalkeeper, who joined the club in the autumn following Ter Stegen’s injury, has impressed in his short spell with the Blaugrana. Now, the club’s sporting director, Deco, has hinted at the possibility of Szczesny staying beyond the summer.

“If he is happy, he is a player to keep in mind because he can give us a lot next year,” Deco told Diario Sport.

“I don’t know his plans yet. We haven’t spoken, but we will surely speak soon.”

Szczesny’s current contract with Barcelona expires in July, leaving his future at the club uncertain. However, with Ter Stegen returning from injury, the Blaugrana may see the experienced shot-stopper as a valuable option in the squad.

Since arriving at the club, the 34-year-old has featured in nine matches, conceding nine goals and keeping four clean sheets.

With Barcelona expected to make key squad decisions in the coming months, Szczesny’s next move will be one to watch.
