Barcelona wrapped up their Champions League league phase campaign with a 2-2 draw against Atalanta, securing a second-place finish in their group.

Despite coming close to topping the table, Liverpool edged Barca out with a two-point advantage.

Barca could have finished the league stages of the Champions League in first position had they defeated Atalanta, with Liverpool losing their final game.

Barca have directly qualified for the Round of 16 and end the league stages as the highest scorers in the competition after eight games.

Barca will now face one of AS Monaco, Brest, Paris Saint-Germain or Benfica in the next round.

Lamine Yamal was asked about the possibility of facing PSG in the next round, and the 17-year-old was bullish in his response.

He said: “Facing PSG in the Round of 16? We finished 2nd in the standings, we’re favourites against any team we play…

“Whoever team it is, we’ll be waiting for them here, and we’ll beat them.”
