Barcelona wrapped up their Champions League league phase campaign with a 2-2 draw against Atalanta, securing a second-place finish in their group.

Despite coming close to topping the table, Liverpool edged Barca out with a two-point advantage.

Barca could have finished the league stages of the Champions League in first position had they defeated Atalanta, with Liverpool losing their final game.

Barca have directly qualified for the Round of 16 and end the league stages as the highest scorers in the competition after eight games.

Barca will now face one of AS Monaco, Brest, Paris Saint-Germain or Benfica in the next round.

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has said that he has no preference in who he’d like his side to face.

“It is too early to talk about rivals. We’ll see what happens.”
