Barcelona’s much-anticipated return to Camp Nou remains shrouded in uncertainty, with no definitive date set for when the team will return to their iconic home ground.
Speaking on the matter, the club’s vice-president, Elena Fort, provided some clarity, stating:
“As of today, there is no exact date, but it will be this season when it can be done. We have made a total exercise of transparency.”
The delay in returning to Camp Nou has been attributed to unforeseen challenges that have emerged during the renovation project.
Fort elaborated on these issues, explaining: “There have been unforeseen events that have caused the first forecasts to be delayed due to problems with manpower or supplies.
“The deviation will be a few weeks up or down. Regarding the penalty, we will evaluate it at the end of the project and analyze whether it should be applied or not.”
Current reports suggest that Barcelona may not be able to return to Camp Nou until February at the earliest. Meanwhile, uncertainty looms over where the club will host their final Champions League group-stage fixture against Atalanta, as the Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys has been ruled out as a potential venue.
The situation continues to evolve, and fans are eagerly awaiting more updates from the club regarding the return to their beloved stadium.
