Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has been handed a two-match suspension by the RFEF Disciplinary Committee after his expulsion during Barcelona’s fiery clash against Real Betis last Saturday.
The incident, which occurred in the second half of the game, saw Flick ejected from the touchline following an intense argument with the match officials after Betis were awarded a penalty kick.
His actions were deemed to have breached the RFEF’s code of conduct, resulting in the committee’s swift decision to impose the ban.
This suspension means Flick will be absent from Barcelona’s technical area for their crucial upcoming fixtures.
Flick will now miss two games. This includes the upcoming home match against Leganes and the crucial clash with Atletico de Madrid on the 21st of December. This also means Flick won’t be on the Barcelona sidelines until 2025.
Barcelona has yet to issue an official statement regarding the ban, but sources within the club indicate they are unlikely to appeal the decision, choosing instead to focus on maintaining momentum in their title challenge.
