Andreas Christensen has been out of action due to injury.

Christensen suffered an injury early in the 2024/25 season, and the Danish international has only made one appearance this campaign.

Christensen is expected to return to action in January, but has an uphill task to win a place in the team.

Speaking to TV Sport 2, Christensen admitted it would be difficult to break into the team.

Asked how he plans to get back into the Barcelona XI after recovering from injury, Andreas Christensen said: “I approach it with the attitude that it will be difficult.

“They’ve done incredibly well and it’s up to me to knock them off. The ultimate goal is to come back and play as many matches as possible, but it will be difficult.

“It’s been a while since I’ve talked to him (Flick) tactically, but I played as a 6 in pre season, so it could well be a thought, but I think mainly that it will be as a central defender. It’s also where I’d rather play.”
