Barcelona have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo.
Dani Olmo spent seven years in the Barcelona academy, but didn’t make the progress to the senior team before he completed a move to Dinamo Zagreb in 2014.
After spending six years with the Croatian giants, Dani Olmo moved to German club RB Leipzig in January 2020.
Olmo’s stock continued to rise in Germany, and it culminated in Euro 2024 where he was one of the standout performers, as Spain went on to win the tournament.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the deal for Olmo, thus: “Dani Olmo to Barca, here we go! Verbal agreement in place after key mission in Leipzig for Barca director Deco.”
According to the report, Barcelona have agreed to fork over an initial €55 million, plus a further €7 in potential add-ons, to bring Olmo back to the Camp Nou.
The 26-year-old will sign a contract with the club through the summer of 2030.
Olmo has gone on to establish himself as a key player in the Leipzig side, scoring 29 goals and providing 34 assists in 148 appearances.
The Spaniard also played a starring role in Spain’s Euro 2024 success, scoring three goals and providing two assists in six appearances.
