Barcelona got a 2-0 victory over Almeria to further strengthen their position in second place.

Fermin Lopez was the star of the show, as his brace ensured the victory for Barcelona.

Getting a starting role on Thursday, Fermin Lopez repaid the faith of manager, Xavi, as he bagged a brace.

After first nodding home a fine header early on, the 20-year-old followed up with a second-half strike to win the Man of the Match honours at the Power Horse Stadium.

Having scored 10 goals for the campaign, despite not being a regular starter, Fermin Lopez was singled out for praise by Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto.

Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s victory, Barca captain Sergi Roberto lauded his young teammate: “Fermin is so good. He’s scored 10 goals now. He’s got the ambition to help the team and he feels the colors. It’s a pleasure to have homegrown players like him.”
