Barcelona beat Valencia 4-2 on Monday night, but it wasn’t a straightforward victory.
The Blaugrana took the lead in the 22nd minute, courtesy of Fermin Lopez. It however went downhill from there, as Barcelona conceded two goals in the first-half.
Ronald Araujo made a defensive error ahead of Valencia’s first goal, and a few minutes later, he also conceded a penalty kick.
Speaking after the game, Xavi was critical of defensive error.
“We were good, but individual errors still cost us dearly. We weren’t good on second balls too,” Xavi told the media after the 4-2 win against Valencia.
Speaking about the errors from the team, Xavi stated: “Araujo, and many others, are really young players. They all still have a lot to learn and situations like these is learning experience.
“Ronald also saved us several times.”
Ronald Araujo has had quite a tough season. He has now been given two red cards while he also conceded two penalties and made two errors leading to goals in all competitions this term.
