Barcelona secured a 1-0 victory over Cadiz on Saturday night at the Nuevo Mirandilla.
Joao Felix scored the only goal of the game, which was enough for the three points.
Joao Felix had a fine game against Cadiz, but the Portuguese has barely started games in recent times for Barcelona.
Speaking after the win against Cadiz, Felix sent a message to Xavi that he wants to start more games.
“Every player wants to be a starter,” Joao Felix said after the Cadiz game.
“I want to play more because I think that I’m able to help the team, but the decision is up to the manager.
“I’m trying to do the best to help the team, either as a substitute or as a starter.”
Xavi also praised Joao Felix for his performance.
Xavi said after the game: “Joao Felix has a lot of talent. He’s been a great help, feeling comfortable and happy here.
“His goal today wasn’t just brilliant; it also came from his hard work, pressing, and freedom of movement which allowed him to fully leverage his skills.
“Today, he was simply marvelous.”
