Pedri came on as a substitute in the Champions League quarter-final first leg clash at the Parc des Princes.

Just a minute after coming on for Sergi Roberto, Pedri assisted Raphinha for Barcelona’s second goal to level the scores.

Andreas Christensen will score the third goal later in the half to seal a famous 3-2 victory for Barcelona – the first time for Barcelona to win at the Parc des Princes in ten years.

Speaking after the game, Pedri urged Xavi to remain at the club. Pedri is one of many players that have urged Xavi to remain at the club.

Xavi had announced in January that he’d step down at the end of the season. However, the team has been in tremendous form since then.

“We have always been with the coach to the death and as long as he is with us it will be yes, we hope it will be for many years,” Pedri said.

“He [Xavi] grew up at Barca and we [the players] try to defend the club like he did as a player.

“I hope you think again, Xavi, and stay for a long time.”
