When Barcelona snapped up Brazilian youngster Vitor Roque, many expected that the young striker will be an instant hit, following his exploits with Athletico Paranaense.

The 19-year-old Brazilian striker scored 21 goals last season for Atletico Paranaense, but has found game time hard to get at Barcelona.

The youngster has only featured in 164 minutes across his seven La Liga appearances so far, and has scored two goals.

Xavi has said there’s so much competition in attack, which is why Roque isn’t playing much.

“It is a competition against Lewandowski and all the forwards [not just Roque],” Xavi said explaining the situation.

“It is not easy, but he has had minutes and opportunities. He is one more forward and if he has to play, he will play.”
