Barcelona and Napoli played out a 1-1 draw at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium on Wednesday night.
Robert Lewandowski had put Barcelona in front on the hour mark, but Victor Osimhen equalised for the home side 15 minutes later.
Xavi has hailed two Barca players for their recent improvement – Robert Lewandowski and Pedri.
Lewandowski has been on fire lately, scoring five goals in his last four games, and Pedri was brilliant against Napoli.
Xavi has now spoken highly of Lewandowski and Pedri.
“Robert Lewandowski has taken a big step forward since I announced my departure. He scored many important goals in the last few weeks,” Xavi said after the 1-1 draw against Napoli.
“Players like Pedri and Lewandowski are in good form. They have both improved since I announced my decision.”
Meanwhile, Xavi believes his side should have won the game, and said it’s a shame Barcelona could only get a draw.
“It is not a good result. It was a game to win today. It’s a shame,” Xavi told the media after the 1-1 draw against Napoli.
“We deserved the victory, we gave a good image of ourselves. We dominated the game for 75 minutes and just needed to calm it down a bit.
“We will try to advance to the quarterfinals at home with our fans.”
