Barcelona are believed to be keen on AC Milan star Rafael Leao, following his impressive performance for the Serie A giants.
Despite facing stiff competition from other top European clubs and considering AC Milan’s reluctance to sell their star winger, Barcelona remains keen on acquiring Leao.
Following this season’s drop in form, Barcelona are looking to sign a big star in the summer to completely turn around their fortunes — and Rafael Leao is the man on their radar.
According to Diario Sport, Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta is planning a clearout sale in the summer to raise €200m. The better part of that money will be used to sign Rafa Leao.
The report claims Barca could be open to selling players like Jules Kounde, Frenkie De Jong and Ronald Araujo, to raise money for Rafael Leao.
Leao’s market value stands around €150m but Barcelona would be hoping to get him for a lesser fee.
The financial aspect of this potential transfer could pose challenges for Barcelona, given the club’s financial constraints.
However, the club has previously demonstrated its ability to secure major signings, indicating that a deal for Leao, while challenging, might not be entirely out of reach.
