Back in the summer of 2021, talented La Masia product Ilaix Moriba made a shock decision to leave Barcelona.

Barcelona fans were shocked that Moriba who was highly rated, will leave the club so early.

Moriba left the club after rejecting Barca’s salary offer in his new contract.

The 21-year-old was sold to RB Leipzig where he failed to break into their first team. The German side loaned him to Valencia in 2022, and he has now returned to the La Liga on another loan spell – this time at Getafe.

Moriba has admitted he regrets leaving Barcelona when he did.

“I have made mistakes and that is what life is about,” Moriba said in a press conference.

“I have a great love for the club of my life, Barcelona. I made mistakes and now I’m at a point where I want everyone to see the player they once saw.

“I’m looking forward to starting to play here, for everyone to start respecting me as they did.

“Whether or not a correct decision was made (in leaving Barcelona), the truth is that I’m happy now to be here and I want to show that I am still the same and I want to work for it.”
