Xavi had said he was going to leave the Barcelona job at the end of the season, following the disappointing 5-3 defeat to Villarreal.

Pedri has admitted that being a Barcelona manager is a tough ask, and also admits that it has also been a complicated week for his teammates following Xavi’s announcement that he’d leave at the end of the season.

Pedri is one of the players who have grown under the watch of Xavi, and he’s not happy to see the gaffer leave.

Pedri told the media after the 1-0 win against Osasuna: “Being a Barca coach has to be complicated – when you fail, you get hit.

“But we are at the best club in the world. You have to accept criticism when things don’t work out.

“This week has been a little strange for everyone, it has been complicated. It is the coach’s decision [to leave].

“He has helped us all a lot, and we have to give everything for him until the end. These are the last games when we are able to enjoy Xavi as a coach.”
