Xavi made a strange call to take off Fermin Lopez during the game against Osasuna.
Many were surprised to see Fermin Lopez leave the pitch in the 62nd minute despite being Barca’s best player against Osasuna.
However, Vitor Roque who was his replacement found the net with his first touch just a minute later.
Xavi has now explained his decision.
“Fermin was good. He was very good, but we needed to score. The circumstances made us replace him, but I’m happy for him,” Xavi explained.
“Fermin and Vitor Roque have given us a lot. They attacked the spaces very well and we created chances there. They have understood the task very well and we have created chances that allowed us to win easily.”
