Jurgen Klopp made a bold announcement last Friday, as he revealed he’d be leaving his job as Liverpool manager at the end of the season.

Klopp who’s currently the longest serving manager in the Premier League is in his ninth season at Anfield.

“I can understand that it’s a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it – or at least try to explain it,” Klopp said.

“I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything. But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take.”

Klopp’s announcement came a day after Xavi’s announcement that he’d leave Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Sport, are now reporting that Barcelona are keen for Klopp to become their manager, following Xavi’s announcement that he’s also leaving Barcelona.

Klopp may have said he wants some time off after leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, but Sport claims Barça are ‘convinced’ they can change his mind, as he ‘will listen’ in case the Catalan side ‘go all out’ with an attempt to bring him to Spain, since he’s ‘always been seduced’ by that possibility.

Klopp has definitely said he’d be off for at least a year… and he sure will. Sport need to forget about the illusion of Klopp becoming Barcelona’s manager next season.
