Barcelona right-back Joao Cancelo has slammed himself for his performance against Villarreal on Saturday.
Cancelo didn’t start the game, but came on at half-time, having only recovered from injury.
The 29-year-old was caught out of position for Villarreal’s third goal, and also stood by and watched on as they scored the fourth.
Xavi said he’d be leaving Barcelona afterwards, and Cancelo has blamed himself for the defeat.
Speaking after the game, Cancelo said (via Goal): “My performance today was a disaster. Tomorrow I will give everything in training to be at my best on Wednesday. We are a great team. The coach is not to blame.
“He did them well and I did not reciprocate. Has the League gone? Mathematically no, but it is very difficult.”
