Xavi Hernandez, the manager of Barcelona, has announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the current season.
This decision comes after discussions with the club’s president and staff, indicating a need for a change in direction at Barcelona.
Xavi made this announcement following a recent defeat in a La Liga match against Villarreal, signaling an end to his tenure as the club’s manager. Barca lost the tie 5-3, despite coming from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 even late in the game. Barca collapsed in the last few minutes, conceding three more goals.
Xavi said after the game: “On June 30 I will LEAVE the club. It’s a decision that we have discussed with the President, with the staff… Barça need a change of direction.”
