Barcelona lost to Real Madrid in the Spanish Supercopa final, as the Los Blancos won the Clasico tie 4-1.

The first-half ended 3-1, with Vinicius Jr scoring a quick-fire brace inside 10 minutes.

Speaking after the game, Xavi and his captain Sergi Roberto, admitted that Real Madrid’s counterattacking strategy did damage to Barcelona.

“The two goals in 10 minutes affected us a lot,” Sergi Roberto said.

“I hope I can explain what happened to us at the beginning of the game.”

Xavi also spoke about Madrid’s counterattacks.

“Real Madrid did us a lot of damage on the counterattack. It was difficult for us to compete,” Xavi said.

“I am disappointed and sad. We have to live the bitter side of football, but Barca will be back.”
