Real Madrid beat Barcelona in the Spanish Supercopa final, as the Los Blancos won the Clasico tie 4-1.

Vinicius Jr scored a quick-fire brace inside 10 minutes. Robert Lewandowski will then score a goal to reduce the deficit.

However, Real Madrid were awarded a penalty before half-time, with Ronald Araujo accused of pulling down Vinicius Jr in the penalty box. The Brazilian would convert the penalty to make it 3-1. Rodrygo scored in the second-half to seal a 4-1 victory for Real.

Speaking after the game, Xavi admitted that Real Madrid’s penalty was non-existent, and it killed the game for Barcelona.

“We reacted with Lewandowski’s goal [against Real Madrid], but the penalty that didn’t exist killed us,” Xavi told the media after losing the Supercopa Clasico 4-1.
