Barcelona right-back Joao Cancelo has been ruled out of the upcoming Supercopa final clash against Real Madrid on Sunday.
According to Javi Miguel of Diario AS and SPORT, Joao Cancelo won’t be a part of Barcelona’s Supercopa final against Real Madrid on Sunday.
Javi Miguel claims it would’ve taken a miracle for Cancelo to recover from a knee injury in just 10 days. That miracle did not happen.
Cancelo is now expected to be fit for Barcelona’s next La Liga game on 21st January against Real Betis, all things being equal.
Meanwhile, Raphinha is also out injured, as he was forced off the pitch 40 minutes into the Spanish Super Cup semi-final clash against Osasuna on Thursday.
The injury turned out to be a hamstring injury, and Barcelona have confirmed that the Brazilian will be out for a while.
The club stated in a statement: “Tests carried out on the first team player Raphinha have revealed that the he has an injury to his biceps femoris muscle in his left thigh. He is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return.”
Raphinha is expected to be out for around a month.
