Osasuna players and coaches were livid after losing to Barcelona in the Supercopa semi-final clash.
Barcelona won the game 2-0 to set up a final clash with Real Madrid on Sunday.
Leading to Barcelona’s first goal, Andreas Christensen tackled Jose Arnaiz in the middle. The incident was checked by VAR but no foul was given and the goal stood.
Osasuna’s David Garcia was angry with the decision, and told Movistar after his team lost 2-0 to Barcelona: “You’ve all seen it, right? The push on Arnaiz was very clear. If that had happened to a different team, the decision would have been different too. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, because I don’t want to sound populist in my statements, but…”
Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera was angry at the officiating, and felt the officiating was against his team.
Speaking after the game, he said: “This competition is clearly designed for Barça or Madrid to win. It’s obvious, they are the teams that generate the most money. Whoever disagrees does not watch football.”
