Joao Felix was a key player for Barcelona upon joining the club on loan from Atletico Madrid. The 23-year-old stunned the Camp Nou with his incredible skills at the start of the season.

The Portugal international seems to have lost his starting role lately, and his future at the club has been put into doubt.

Nevertheless, Xavi insists he’s still counting on Joao Felix this season, but has called for Felix to be more consistent in his game.

Xavi said: “He will be important, but like everyone. He is prepared to be a Barcelona footballer, like the rest.”

Xavi added while speaking ahead of the Supercopa clash with Osasuna: “The goal is to seek excellence and we are on the way.

“Consistency is lacking. I’m happy. The line is very positive despite the titles. Excellence will give us the titles.”
