We are midway into the season, and Barcelona find themselves fourth in the La Liga.
Barcelona have had a season of ups and downs, as the League’s defending Champions are 7 points behind Real Madrid and Girona.
We take a look back at what Xavi said of the team’s current situation, as the Blaugrana are set to resume action with a game against Las Palmas on Thursday.
For Xavi, star striker Robert Lewandowski won’t be absolved of the blames as well.
“Barca have been poor with their finishing. Lewandowski is no exception in our lack of effectiveness, here we all fail,” Xavi said.
“We have 9 points less than last season and I’m sure we’ve done things wrong. Lack of effectiveness and intensity.
“In the game situations, I think we have improved, but the lack of intensity in the box is weighing on us.
“Do we lack optimism? We have failed, but we are going to fight for everything. We can plug in and we will have our moment.
“If we continue to fail, it will be very complicated, but we are going to fight for all the titles.”
