Barcelona played out a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano away from home on Saturday.
A late goal saw Barca level the scores in the 82nd minute, but the Blaugrana could easily have taken all three points.
Barcelona were denied a penalty when Espino brutally kicked Raphinha inside the penalty box, very late in the game.
Surprisingly, neither the referee nor VAR responded to it. There wasn’t even a VAR check on the incident.
Barca fans took to social media to lament on the injustice.
El Chirincirco TV (X): “The referees just took a penalty against Raphinha as if it were normal play in the centre of the field. Not a single comment from the broadcasters. A quick replay and we continue. It is a shame!”
Míster Seitán (X): “We go on with miserable thefts against us this season… The whole planet saw the penalty against Raphinha. Unbelievable!”
El Modelo (X): “Clearest penalty to Raphinha. Huge robbery. How do they not ban the referee?”
