Barcelona came from behind to beat stubborn Alaves 2-1.

Barcelona conceded a first minute goal when Samu Omorodion scored just after kick-off.

Omorodion kept troubling the Barcelona defence in the first-half, until a tactical masterstroke from Xavi.

Xavi swapped Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo, as the Uruguayan was tasked with marking the Alaves forward.

Araujo did his job to perfection, as Barca went on to force a victory in the second-half.

Xavi hailed Araujo after the match, as he believes that the defender’s impact was important to the win.

“Individually, Araujo is our best defender,” Xavi told the media after the game.

“We saw that there were a lot of individual duels with Samu Omorodion [Alaves’ striker] in the central defence area, and we decided to switch the positions of Kounde and Araujo. We gained stability that way.”
