Xavi must work on poor European record as Barca manager

Xavi Hernandez has done well since his appointment as Barcelona manager.

The former Barcelona midfielder led the club to win the La Liga last season, and the quest this season is to win the Champions League.

However, Barcelona’s performance in Europe under Xavi has been quite poor.

While this season has started brightly for Barca in the Champions League, the game against Shakhtar showed another familiar story, as Barca lost out to the Ukrainian side.

The defeat adds to Xavi’s horrendous record in Europe since he became Barca’s coach in November 2021.

Xavi has only won seven of the 20 European games as Barca manager – in both the Champions League and Europa League.

Xavi’s defeat in Europe has come against Napoli, Galatasaray, Victoria Plzen, Antwerp, Porto, Shakhtar, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt and Manchester United.
