Ousmane Dembele left Barcelona for PSG for €50m in the summer.

It was a shock move for many, as Dembele had previously stated that he was going to remain at Barcelona under Xavi.

Dembele had been a key figure under Xavi, and had been in his best form since joining Barcelona.

Dembele has now claimed he didn’t want to leave Barcelona initially, but was later convinced by PSG.

“Indeed, I said that I would stay at Barcelona [last summer], but, after maintaining contacts with PSG, I convinced myself that I should leave,” Ousmane Dembele told L’Equipe.

“I signed for PSG because it’s a French club and I love it.”

Dembele has struggled for form since leaving Barca, and is yet to score a single goal for PSG after featuring in 13 appearances for the Ligue 1 side. He has only 3 assists so far.
