Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil has admitted his frustration after losing to Barcelona on their home turf.
Real dominated most part of the game, as Barca were far from their best, but it was Barcelona who won the tie 1-0, thanks to a 93rd minute Ronald Araujo goal.
Imanol said after the game: “I think the fans have to be happy and proud of how we played, but as a coach I am very angry and so are the players.
“What coaches say no longer works for me when we lose when we are better than them, we have to play to win, you have to win by playing the game you have played.
“We have to do self-criticism, because there are already many games that we have played to win and we have not done so.
“When you play better than your opponent, you have to score. When you take risks like we do. You do it above all to score and win. The 10 minutes? No, we can’t focus on that, it’s on the entire game in which we play and create to win.
“You see many games and I have also seen other games in which a team generates a lot, the rival does nothing, and the game goes to the one that has generated the least.
“But I am talking about Real and, since it is not the first time, I have to be angry and criticise myself. I cannot console myself once again with how well we have played and how little we have let them do because, if in the end you lose, it is of no use.”
