Speaking before the game, Xavi admitted he was expecting a Champions League battle, and it turned out to be so.
“Today’s match is at Champions level. We arrived at our best moment.
“We will try to dominate the match and take the 3 points,” the Barcelona boss told the press ahead of the Sociedad clash.
Speaking after the game, Xavi claimed his team didn’t deserve the three points.
He said: “Last week we deserved to win and we lost. This week we didn’t deserve to win… but we did. That’s how football is.
“We took out the anger we had on El Clasico today. We won a very important match, even though we did not deserve it.”
