Barcelona recorded their first defeat of the season, as the Los Blancos were beaten 2-1 by Real Madrid in the first El Clasico game of the season.

According to Diario Sport, there was an impromptu meeting between Xavi and Barca president Joan Laporta after the game. Barca VP Rafa Yuste and sporting director Deco, were also in attendance.

The meeting was believed to be an informal one, as the board encouraged Xavi afterwards.

Report claims that the board only re-enacted their faith in Xavi, which was evident as the Spaniard was only recently handed a new contract.

They also reportedly discussed how to help the team, as Xavi’s squad has been plagued by injuries in recent months.
