According to reports, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will not travel to Barcelona for this weekend’s El Clasico.

Florentino Perez is unhappy with what Barca’s spokesman said about Vinicius Junior recently.

“It’s not racism, he [Vinicius] deserves a slap for being a clown and a provocator. What do these useless dribbles represent in the middle of the field… “ Mikel Camps tweeted.

Perez has been disgusted by the statement, as the club has been battling hard over the racist abuse targeted at Vinicius Jr.

Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart has now taken a swipe at Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez.

The former president is unimpressed by Florentino’s plans not to attend the El Clasico this weekend, and said he didn’t do so in the past.

Gaspart told RAC-1: “It is a discredit that Florentino Pérez does not come to the Clásico. He is a great man as a person. He did not come in as president of Madrid, we already know what happened with (Luis) Figo. He has failed me a lot.

“It’s not his style. He knows the history and knows that no illegality has been committed. Why can’t Barça and Madrid sit down to eat, have a snack or in a box? If I had been president of Barça, I would have gone. I did it after very difficult moments even though I didn’t like it. That is part of the position but the most important thing is the result and that we win.

“There are sporting rivals and historical enemies accepted in Madrid, as we already know what happened with Figo, all our lives. I don’t like having enemies but the day we don’t have them…”
