Barcelona attacking midfielder Pedri, has been absent from action for about two months now.

The 20-year-old has been out with a muscle injury he picked up during training in August.

Pedri has a history with injuries, and Barca are unwilling to risk the Spaniard until he’s fully fit.

Pedri is absent from the squad for the Champions League game against Shakhtar on Wednesday and could also the miss the El Clasico.

The 20-year-old is expected to return to action for Barca in November.

Speaking about his two-months absence, Xavi said: “Two months since Pedri got injured? The sensations are what the player sets day by day, we try to avoid a relapse at all costs, which is why we are having a cautious approach. There is no relapse.”
