
It was indeed a tough game against Athletic Bilbao, as a depleted Barcelona squad managed to take all three points and close the gap on Real Madrid.
The first-half was balanced, as both sides had opportunities to win the game.
The second-half was as well difficult, but it was Barcelona who was testing the Bilbao goalkeeper, with Joao Felix pulling the strings.
Barcelona however couldn’t find a way past the Bilbao goalie.
Xavi turned to youngster Marc Guiu in the 79th minute, and the 17-year-old scored with his first involvement a minute later to put Barcelona ahead.
The youngster’s goal was enough for Barcelona to take all three points, and move up to a point behind Real Madrid, although in third place, with surprise package Girona in second position.
