Former Barcelona presidential candidate Toni Freixa has told Barca president Joan Laporta to resign from his position.

Freixa made this statement amid the bribery allegations in the Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira scandal, which Barca have been accused of bribery.

“Laporta must put FC Barcelona above everything else,” Freixa tweeted.

“If I was in his place now, I would resign, but it’s not for me to say.

“Barca never paid Negreira. It was done by the presidents in turn. It is an important nuance and it is time to speak clearly tweet.”

Freixa lost to Laporta in the 2021 Barca presidential elections.
