According to media outlet Sport via Forbes, Newcastle United midfielder and Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes has a special, secret clause in his new contract which allows him to join FC Barcelona for a reduced fee.

The 26 year old midfielder, who joined Newcastle United in January 2022 for €42million, recently signed a contract keeping him at Newcastle United until 2028 but the contract has a special release clause to join Barcelona.

Guimaraes has a £100million (€115million) release clause in his new Newcastle United contract though, that fee lowers to around €65-70 million ($68-73.6 million) thanks to a special clause valid only for Barca – who appear to be the club of Guimaraes’ dreams.

Guimaraes played a crucial role for Newcastle United at the back end of last season as they secured Champions League qualification for the first time in two decades.
