Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez has backed Fermin Lopez to have more game time this season.

Having impressed in pre-season, the 20-year-old became a part of the first team squad.

However, Lopez has shown in recent games that he’s more than just a squad player.

Xavi has hailed the quality of the attacking midfielder, and has assured him of more game time if he continues like this.

“I have said it several times… He [Fermin] is a player that I like,” Xavi told the media before Barcelona’s La Liga clash against Granada.

“He uses both feet, he profiles well, he has a shot from range. He is a player who wins duels, aggressive, intense.

“He will have a lot of game time if he keeps up at this level.”
